The series has received an eight-episode order and will begin production in April for a launch in late spring or summer. The show, which the CW unofficially describes as "The Devil Wears Prada" meets "The Assistant," is eyed as a potential companion piece for "Top Model."
"It is a competition show about aspiring assistants looking to become assistant editors at a fashion magazine," Mok said. "At the same time they're trying to prove themselves as aspiring fashionistas, that they have a sense of style and savvyness, all the things to make it in the fashion world."

MINORITY REPORT: BRITNEY SPEARS
Britney Spears was taken by ambulance from her Studio City, Calif., home shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday.
The singer, 26, was transported to UCLA Medical Center for another 72-hour emergency hold. Police or a mental health professional can request one if a person is deemed to be a danger to him and herself or others. (Spears was held at Cedars-Sinai on such an order earlier this month, following her Jan. 3 custody standoff with police.) Spears's mother, Lynne – who's has been in the midst of a tense reunion with her daughter – friend Alli Sims and confidant Sam Lutfi were all inside the gated mansion when police and the fire department arrived.
What brought on the hospitalization? "She was driving around her neighborhood like a mad-woman," says a Spears family source. "Britney has been prescribed medication which she refuses to take. This is just another sad, sad evening."
Sounds like an intervension went down here. Lets hope this girl gets some help. I still like Brit Brit. I'd love to see her get it together.MO'NIQUE SETS IT STRAIGHT ON OPRAH
“When I said I had an open marriage, people automatically jumped to sex. They automatically went there. But I’ve been best friends with my husband since we were 14 years old. When we say open, we’re very honest. There are no secrets. Often times you have people that are married, but they’re strangers, and we refuse to be those people. I’ve had to sneak and I’ve had to lie, and I don’t want to do that any more. But my husband is so awesome and so fine and so—oh, girl. … No other man can compare."

WYCLEF CONTINUES TO THROW LAURYN UNDER THE BUS
"Someone is pimping Lauryn right now. A true friend would say, 'You have to check yourself into a psychiatrist,'" Wyclef told Giant magazine.
This is the latest in the 35-year-old Haitian's tough-love talk about his one-time lover. In November, he told Rolling Stone he thought the Doo Wop warbler was bipolar and even said he appealed to her mother for help.
Meanwhile, Lauryn is expecting her fifth child with Bob Marley's son, Rohan.

KWAME KILPATRICK'S COS RESIGNS
The mayor's office received the letter today and made it public.
In the letter, Beatty said it is "clear that I can no longer effectively carry out the duties of chief of staff.
"I painfully regret the devastation that the recent reports have caused to the citizens of Detroit, to my co-workers to the mayor's family and to my family and friends."
Beatty, Kilpatrick's chief of staff and an old friend from high school, has been the center of a sexual scandal involving her and the mayor. Both Kilpatrick and Beatty swore under oath in an earlier trial that they have never been involved in an affair. However, scores of text messages between Beatty and Kilpatrick -- dating back to 2002 -- seem to contradict their denials.

"I just flew in about ten minutes ago--I just had to deal with a whole lot of bullsh*t," Wayne addressed the crowd. "I want you to know that none of you up in this building have nothing to do with this attitude I got right now. I'm not the most happiest man right now."
Wayne delivered a scathing glare and pointed at the men onstage behind him as he finished, "When your friends turn their back on you and say they're gonna be there for you..... I just want all the motherf*ckers that been with me that ain't gone never be with me again to know, I did it for y'all! Those who won't be with me no more, Die!"

OBAMA WINS SOUTH CAROLINA
With most precincts reporting, Obama trounced Clinton by an almost two-to-one margin, taking 55 percent of the vote to her 27 percent. Edwards netted 18 percent. According to CNN, more than 530,000 votes were counted, with most precincts reporting. By contrast, only 290,000 Democratic voters turned out for the 2004 primary, according to The Washington Post.
Entering to chants of "Yes, we can," Obama addressed the crowd, thanking his wife and children before showing his appreciation to South Carolina's residents for a much-needed win. He was all smiles upon entering, but, perhaps in light of growing tension between his and Clinton's campaigns, his speech was notably more forceful than the one he gave after his win in the Iowa caucus earlier this month.
"Over two weeks ago, we saw the people of Iowa proclaim that our time for change has come," he said. "But there were those that doubted this country's desire for something new, who said Iowa was a fluke, not to be repeated again. Well, tonight the cynics who believed that what began in the snows of Iowa was just an illusion were told a different story by the good people of South Carolina."
