Rapper Kanye West is bringing his jetset lifestyle to the masses via his new travel website expected to launch this week.
According to Advertising Age, Kanye's new venture, KanyeTravel.com, will offer quality low air fares, hotels and rental cars without service or membership fees. The site will be accessible via hyperlinks on Kanye's blog. As a special bonus, fans should look for the rapper to include travel packages with tickets to his concerts and concert merchandise.
"We did a lot of due diligence with online travel partners," Miki Woodard, President of West Brands, Kanye's company, told Advertising Age. Currently partnered with Travelocity, Woodard said the site has been in the works for nearly a year.
Within the next few weeks Kanye is expected to enter into cross-promotional deals with marketing partners in support of the venture. Woodard revealed that negotiations are currently in the works, and are being conducted by Scotty Abrams, president of celebrity brand-development firm Maniac Creative.
While Woodard would not say which companies are in talks for partnerships, Abrams' father, Neil Abrams, whose travel consulting firm has also been hired by West, says West's marketing partners will likely include a wireless company and an automaker.
Kanye "has a passionate fan base in the hundreds of thousands worldwide, so this is a great marketing platform," Abrams said.
