NO NEVERLAND FOR MICHAEL

A Jackson family spokesman announced Wednesday there will be a public memorial for the fallen King of Pop, but it won't be held at his famed Neverland Ranch.

The announcement by publicist Ken Sunshine ended days of furious speculation over whether Jackson's fans would get to bid farewell to the pop legend at his sprawling fantasy ranch in Santa Barbara.

However, a report by the Hollywood Reporter suggests a pubic viewing may be held next week at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. According to a post on their Showbiz 411 blog, AEG Live, owner of the sports arena, will allow the facilities to be used for the service on July 7th.

The L.A. Times also reports, according to sources, that plans are underway for a massive law enforcement deployment for that same day.

There has been no word from the Jackson family regarding this plan. Micheale did not make provisions for his funeral and burial in his will, which was filed in court Wednesday.

On Tuesday, numerous media outlets quoting family and law enforcement sources reported that he would be driven by motorcade from Los Angeles to a public viewing at Neverland.

There was talk he would actually be buried at the ranch, but the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday that idea was abandoned because state rules bar interment outside a cemetery.
