I don't know how many of you watch the Hills, but Audrina Patridge was one of my fav looks so I had to post. She was decked in a platinum sequined Isaac Mizrahi minidress and blinged-out accessories, including Jacob & Company jewelry, Balmain rhinestone sandals and Judith Leiber belts. She looked simple, young and fresh.

VMA PERFORMANCES

Nicki Minaj performed during the pre-show. Admittedly, I was multitasking while viewing it. I mostly just saw a bunch of booty popping though.

Sorry Nicki fans, I don’t knock her hustle but when I see her all I see is Lil Kim. The way to stop that is to simply stop jacking her style.


Eminen opened with a surprise performance from Rihanna. Not my favorite RiRi look but she takes chances and that counts for something. She keeps things interesting.


Usher had a huge performance full of lights and dancers.

He did his thing..and after slow record sales and a lot of personal drama he needed this. Hopefully this will bring the attention back to his talent and off of his personal life.


Drake brought out enough swag to bring the old Mary back. It was a nice classy performance



And finally the man we all waited for. "Let's have a toast for the douche bags, Let's have a toast for the assholes....." After all the hoopla from last year's awards he didn't disappoint. He kept it simple and incredibly interesting..interesting song choice, he did his own music, the dancers were interesting. It was so simple people were waiting on the edge of their chairs for something to pop off. I enjoyed it and after a year, we need to let that old Taylor Swift -ish go.


Speaking of Taylor...she performed. Apparently, the song was about last year’s incident concerning Kanye West. Admittedly I'll have to see that again because I have no idea what the song was about. I couldn't tell if she was forgiving him or jabbing him.

MATT BARNES ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

That's what's up....

Matt was arrested in Sacramento, CA around 4:16PM yesterday after a domestic violence situation at his home went down. Cops arrived on the scene after an "incomplete 911 call" was placed. Both parties--Matt and the "mystery woman"--had visible injuries. Matt was charged with suspicion of domestic violence AND violent obstruction of the use of a telephone line.

Matt took to twitter and the News to claim his innocence after posting his $50,000 bond around 9:15pm last night:

"I was the victim but still got arrested."

The report also states that Barnes also texted May, "U know any domestic violence situation 9 outa 10 times the man gets arrested. That's the case here I was the victim but still got arrested. No matter what I say people are gonna think what they want..."

Barnes also posted the following on his Twitter page, ""DON'T LET YOUR EARS WITNESS, WHAT YOUR EYES DIDN'T SEE!!!"

JAY-Z SIGNS WILLOW SMITH

Willow Smith, 9, has signed a record deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation record label -- and her debut hip-hop single "Whip My Hair" has already been viewed over 100,000 times on YouTube just a day after its release.

In a radio interview today with Ryan Seacrest, Jay-Z said that little Willow is destined for superstardom -- and he even compared her to Michael Jackson.

"I heard the record first before I knew that it was recorded by a nine year old and I was like, man that record's a smash," Jay-Z said. "I believe in superstars. I believe in big records and in superstars and I think [Willow] has both."

"She has a child's innocence but she has a clear vision of who she is and who she wants to be," he continued. "I can only imagine that's how Mike [Michael Jackson] was as a young kid, he knew exactly what he wanted."

MINORITY REPORT: GAGA BATTLES WITH WEIGHT

The NY Daily News reports that Lady Gaga was hospitalized 6 times in a year for dangerous bouts with diets

According to RadarOnline.com, Gaga's tour manager, David Ciemny, claimed that while on tour she would scarf down unhealthy food and then stop eating for weeks to fit into her famous costumes.

At one point, she reportedly lost 20 pounds between fittings.

"The pressure on her to lose weight was very high," Wendy Starland, who helped discover Gaga, is quoted as saying, according to popeater.com.

Earlier this year, the New York native told London’s Daily Telegraph she was mocked for her size while at school.

"I had a very big nose, very curly brown hair and I was overweight," Gaga told the London newspaper. "I got made fun of.”

Rumors of a serious illness reached a fever pitch earlier this year after the singer cancelled two gigs and appeared to collapse on stage during a gig in New Zealand.

Though Gaga said her jet lag was to blame for the collapse, she later suggested to London's Times that she may have the autoimmune disease lupus – typical symptoms include breathing problems, heart palpitations and extreme fatigue.

In the same interview, the singer denied she had an eating disorder but admitted she took prescription medication to control her thoughts.

KANYE STILL APOLOGIZING A YEAR LATER

Kanye writes a song for Taylor ...



"I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that's so beautiful and I want her to have it," he said on his Twitter Saturday morning. "If she won't take it then I'll perform it for her."

Perhaps a sly nod to her pop anthem, "You're Not Sorry," which was released on her 2008 album Fearless?

Nearly a year since he first apologized to Swift, the hip-hop artist is still offering up I'm sorries, calling her "justa lil girl with dreams like the rest of us" on his Twitter.

"She deserves the apology more than anyone," he Tweeted, before thanking the creators of Twitter for making a public platform for expression. "We're both artist[s] and the media and managers are trying to get between us. Everyone wants to capitalize off this [in] some way."

WYCLEF BITES BACK AT HATERS

So after actor Sean Penn threw salt at Wyclef following his denial of the Haiti presidential nod, Wyclef got really grimey on Friday when he told reporters....

Penn's recreational drug use led to him criticizing Wyclef's presidential bid.

Penn told Larry King last month that he worried the singer’s campaign was simply "about a vision of flying around the world, talking to people."

He later penned a column for the Huffington Post criticizing the singer for being absent after the January earthquake in Haiti.

"None among us felt or expressed anger toward it, but rather a universal sadness for his silence, as he is America's most admired cultural link to Haiti," the actor wrote.

Jean lashed out at Penn’s diatribe while performing his 2004 hit "President" at Hot 97's On the Reggae Trip last week.

"I got a message for Sean Penn: Maybe he ain't see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine," he sang.

Penn's rep shot back at Jean's comments, calling them "highly irresponsible and false."

"Mr. Jean is clearly unfamiliar with the physical demands put upon volunteers in Haiti. As aid workers there, the notion of depleting the body’s immune system thru the use of illicit drugs is ludicrous. More specifically, J/P Haitian Relief Organization (a.k.a. JPHRO) has a ZERO tolerance policy for any and all illegal drugs," said Mara Buxbaum. "As the leader of this organization, Sean Penn has not only set this policy, but adheres to it. That Mr. Jean would make such a false accusation is reckless and saddening, but not surprising."

The singer also took issue with Pras Michel, with whom he used to perform in The Fugees, after the former criticized his strategy for revitalizing Haiti.

In response, Jean said on Friday, "I got a message for Praswell, even though you don't want to support me, I got love for you, even though you only kicked 8 bars in the Fugees."

Weeks after he announced his plan to run for President of Haiti at the beginning of August, the country's electoral officials declared Jean was ineligible to run. Though they did not give a reason for the disqualification, reports suggested it was because the singer had not lived in Haiti for five years, a requirement for candidacy.

T.I. & TINY ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES

Rapper T.I., whose movie Takers top the box office BTW, and wife Tameka"Tiny" Cottle were arrested late in Los Angeles last night on drug charges.

Police smelled marijuana coming from their Maybach on Sunset Boulevard during a traffic stop, reports TMZ, and pulled the car over.

T.I., 29 & Tiny, 36, were booked at the West Hollywood sheriff's station and bail was set at $10,000, reports AP. T.I. served seven months in an Arkansas federal prison and three months in a Georgia halfway house on federal weapons charges and was released in March.

LAURYN BACK IN THE STUDIO

For a moment, L Boogie was back to her old self in NY this Saturday performing at the Rock the Bells tour.



Toward the end of her set — which included some Score songs and a few surprises, in addition to Miseducation tracks — Hill invited her children and some of the A-list attendees to the stage. During a reggae breakdown of "Fugee La," Hill brought out Mary J. Blige. Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz and Chris Rock soon followed.

"Where's Jay?" Hill said. "C'mon, man, this is New York." And so the Jiggaman came out and saluted the fans. Next was John Legend and Jerry Wonder.

"It was love back. Love back. Love back," Hill said later in her trailer about the parade of stars. Outside, Busta Rhymes — who was a guest performer of A Tribe Called Quest — came and said hello to her kids. "Reciprocity. It was wonderful to see everybody. I was so touched. I wanted everybody else to share in that moment. I wanted everybody else to see them."

WTF is this stunt about??

So on Friday heads got buzzing when both MCs wrote on their Twitter pages that they had wed.

"Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She's finally mine. :)," Drake tweeted. Minaj also wrote "Yes, its true. Drake and I tied the knot."

Now Nicki Minaj and Drake, are no longer together. Only a day after announcing their union on the social-networking site, Minaj tweeted that she and Drizzy have called it quits.

"Dear Barbz, My husband Drake and I have decided to have our marriage annulled. We'll maintain joint custody. Luv, HB," the Young Money Barbie wrote on Saturday. When asked by Twitter fan MissBrownBear who they were sharing custody of, Minaj "All our SONS."

Minaj's announcement comes after reps for the artists denied that they had ever made it to the altar.

USHER STILL PUBBING

So Usher is back to his media whore ways and using his divorce to pub his new EP Versus which I think came out last week.

So what went wrong? Usher says that shortly after the birth of their second child, he and Foster started to disagree over everything from parenting style to his busy schedule.

"We're two different people," he says, "and we have two different goals. It just was never going to work out 100 percent."

The singer, 31, who sat down with PEOPLE in his Atlanta-area home, says that the couple's priority continues to be their children.

FANTASIA BOUNCING BACK

Look who's bouncing back after admitting that she did try to commit suicide (still can't believe that).


After attempting suicide, Fantasia Barrino is ready to get on with her life. And her first stop on the comeback tour – an impromptu concert in Las Vegas.

With Demi Moore and Soleil Moon Frye (remember Punky Bewster) on hand, Barrino took to the stage Friday night at Palm's Casino Resort's Rain Nightclub to belt out four songs and briefly detail her recent dark days.

"They thought I was finished, they thought I was done," she told the crowd. "I would never ever stop, I don't care what no one says."

At the club celebrating the release of her newest album, Back To Me, the former American Idol winner took to the stage unbeknownst to the crowd, singing "Bittersweet," and also covering Prince's "Purple Rain" and Rufus and Chaka Khan's "Tell Me Something Good."

"I was in the hospital but now I bounce back," she said. "Don't ever let your haters stop you. Don't ever let them stop your destiny."

Earlier in evening Barrino, donning a silver dress and knee-high boots, dined at N9NE Steakhouse with hotel co-owner Gavin Maloof. While dining, Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps stopped at her table to say hello.

BEYONCE ACCUSSED OF LIFTING LEGGINGS

B is being accused of lifting the leggings design that appears in this ad.

It seems the designer from Iceland's E-label shop was told Beyonce indeed purchased a pair of the E-Label leggings from a TopShop in London. In ads for her new Dereon line, she is seen wearing the leggings in question, and one of the owners of E-Label noticed it.

Heba Hallgrimsdottir, one of the owners, said “This is naturally huge and I am still half in shock. I didn’t [recognize] straight away that this was her own label: I just thought she was wearing our leggings. It is practically just copy/paste.”

E-Label's leggings design isn't copyrighted but they believe the large coverage of Beyonce's purchase will be enough to prove plagiarism. The Icelandic clothing label isn't sure if they will sue saying, "I have only just heard about this and no decision has yet been taken. We need to inspect her brand’s trousers closer because, according to law, it is not copied if a certain number of things have been changed from the original design"

So when will Beyonce have babies....when she pleases.



"My ambition is to continue to learn about the world and to eventually have a family," the singer-actress, who turns 29 on Sept. 4, told You magazine, published by Britain's Mail on Sunday.

Pressed for specifics, Knowles – who was the subject of pregnancy rumors last winter – says she can offer "no dates, no times – it will happen when I am ready."

"Probably the biggest challenge in my life is time – making sure I have time to be a wife, to be a singer, to be a songwriter, to be an actor and still have time for my clothing line and now for my perfume [Heat]."

But she gets by – usually with a little help from her girlfriends.

"I love being a woman and I love being a friend to other women," she says. "I think we learn a lot from our female friends – female friendship is very, very important. It's good to support each other, and I do try to put that message in my music."

FANNY IS GETTING IT TOGETHER

Looks like Fanny took someone's advice and is getting it together.



She will return to the spotlight beginning August 24, when she performs on Good Morning America, with numerous additional appearances scheduled over the next couple weeks.

"I can't thank my fans enough for their prayers and support during such a challenging time," the star said in Monday's statement. "It has given me the motivation to get back to work ...I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this album and I pray that everyone enjoys it as much as I do."

Bedbugs are taking over New York.

A new Daily News-Marist poll suggests that The City That Never Sleeps is probably too busy itching: One in 10 New Yorkers has now battled bedbugs in their home.

That's twice as many as the city estimated were plagued by the pests in 2009.

The poll results suggest that more than 800,000 New Yorkers have had bloodsucking bedbugs crawling in their sheets.

"I got all chewed up," said Margaret Martinez, 61, of the Bronx, one of the 11% of poll respondents who reported having personal run-ins with the tiny bloodthirsty insects.

"I woke up and I had bites all over my arms and my face. I was all swollen," she said.

From swanky glass lofts to creaky tenement walkups, the plague of parasites appears to have spread fairly evenly across the five boroughs.

But money makes a difference: Twice as many people who made less than $50,000 a year had bedbugs, compared with those with higher incomes. Only 2% of Republicans had bedbugs, while 12% of Democrats did.

Though infestations at downtown hotels and boutiques get most of the attention, Manhattan is the borough with fewest workplace bedbugs, according to the survey conducted by the Marist poll for the Daily News.

Ten percent of respondents in Queens, Staten Island and Brooklyn reported bedbugs at work, as did 8% of Bronx residents, but just 3% of Manhattanites were afflicted.

Bedbugs are hard to see and hard to kill. The size of a rice grain, they only move around at night and can go many months without feeding. They spread by hitching rides on clothes, luggage or used furniture.

Nearly eradicated by DDT in the 1940s, they are back - and extra pesticide-resistant.

Upper West Side City Councilwoman Gale Brewer said panicked bedbug calls to 311 shot up 33% last year.

"Our phone rings off the hook with bedbug questions," she said. "There are many other stores with bedbugs out there that are not in the press."

The city recently allocated half a million dollars in anti-bedbug funds and is considering naming a bedbug "czar" so New Yorkers can sleep tight.

The News poll found half the city doesn't think officials are doing enough to stamp out the bloodsuckers.

The poll also found 67% of New Yorkers think the best way to discover bedbugs is to see their bites. But scientists say only 50% of people are allergic to bedbug secretions - the rest never develop visible bites.

"There's just not a lot of common knowledge about bedbugs," said Dan Kass, an assistant commissioner at the city's Department of Health.

"We're now at the point with the resurgence of bedbugs that everyone will have to start looking for them."

LLOYD BANKS APOLOGIZES

Nas had a concert at Lincoln Center two Christmases ago. AZ wasn't there, but me and Cormega came out. So they can get in the same room together. And they can kind of alleviate the bullsh-- and say, 'Let's get this money now.'

JUVENILE SENTENCED

Juve has been sentenced to a suspended three month jail sentence and six months probation. The sentence comes after a guilty plea to a misdemeanor marijuana possession charges dating back to February in Louisiana. Reports say the charges were based on an anonymous complaint of marijuana smoke coming from Juvie's home.

Settling into a table at Palms Casino Resort's N9NE, the duo got cozy by sitting right next to each other.

Toward the end of the meal, the duo were spotted holding hands.

FANTASIA MEETS WITH ANTWAUN???

For the first time since the news broke of her alleged affair, Fantasia Barrino and Antwaun Cook, the man whose marriage she has been accused of breaking up, were seen together Friday near her Charlotte, N.C., home.

The two were spotted visiting a local park and appeared to be in deep conversation – all while cameras, presumably for her VH1 reality show, Fantasia for Real, captured the conversation.

The outing comes two days after Fanny was released from the hospital after overdosing on aspirin and a sleep aid.

Court documents filed last week by Cook's wife, Paula, allege that her husband and Barrino had been having an affair since August 2009 and that the two also made a sex tape. She has also threatened to sue the singer for alienation of affection and criminal conversation.

Barrino's manager has said Barrino believed the Cooks had separated and is now "heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused."

GV Says: Really Fanny. Paula is not going to be impressed with this.

After being released from jail yesterday, DMX was pulled over for a minor traffic infraction.

And police soon realized that he was driving without a valid driver’s license, TMZ reports.

The singer’s manager claims that DMX was driving a rental car on his way home from the recording studio around 11 p.m. when he was pulled over on Sunset Boulevard.

Luckily, he wasn’t arrested, but he will have to appear in court in the near future.

TMZ reports that the police allowed a passenger in the car to drive DMX home.

MINORITY REPORT: DR. LAURA GETS OUT OF LINE

Radio host, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, has issued an apology for repeatedly using the N-word several times during an on-air conversation with a caller that she said was being "hypersensitive" to racism.

In an apology issued on her website, Schlessinger said she was trying to make a philosophical point, but was wrong and soon after the talk realized she had made a "horrible mistake."

"I am very sorry. And it won't happen again," she said.

During Tuesday's conversation, Jade — an African-American woman with a white husband — called in to ask for help because her spouse's friends made racist comments about her in their home. Schlessinger said Jade was being too sensitive.

When Jade asked if the N-word was offensive, Schlessinger said "black guys say it all the time," then went on to repeat the word several times. She then said she hears the word a lot and that people shouldn't automatically be offended.

"I guess you don't watch HBO or listen to any black comedians," the doctor said when Jade objected. Schlessinger also said if the caller did not have a sense of humor about race she shouldn't be in an interracial marriage.

Critics are outraged. On Thursday, the Rev. Al Sharpton called the incident "despicable" on CNN.

GV Says: It blows my mind everyday how insensitive some Caucasians can be to minorities. It's so easy to cry hypersensitivity when you're in the majority and you're not faced with snide remarks from co-workers, department store clerks following you, restaurant hosts accidentally skipping over you. When you haven't had to deal with a lifetime of small slights that eventually add up to something sizable it's so easy to say someone is being hypersensitive.

So it seems Vivica's much younger club-promoter boyfriend Slimm's decision to break up - then make up - was all through a press release.

WTF?????

On Wednesday, Slimm, the Atlanta-based co-founder of Plush Blue Entertainment, sent out a release stating that he and Fox were finished.

"Hey this is Slimm, unfortunately me and Vivica are no longer dating," read the promoter's pronouncement. "After eight months, it's time to go our separate ways. In life you can love and have chemistry with a person, but flaws can sometimes outweigh the relationship. I wish her the best and I know she feels the same. Thanks."

A source close to the situation reports that Slimm's decision to send out the first release to a number of ­media outlets was prompted by an argument he had with Fox, 46, who has been commuting from her home in L.A. to Atlanta to make time with her young beau, who's not even 30.

But not even 24 hours later, Slimm had a change of heart and sent out a second release to announce he and Fox were working it out.

"I want to clear the air about the rushed statement released yesterday about Vivica and I breaking up. Sometimes a person may act out of anger," he explained, and then apologized for "overreacting instead of letting time take its course."

"Vivica is an important part of my life and I would never try to hurt her," he concluded. "Thanks for supporting us as we figure things out."

When we contacted for a comment, Viv replied, "Slimm and I r fine!" she emails us. "All relationships have their ups and their downs." She continues, "I'm soo proud that Slimm was man enough to clear up the air" via the second press release.

"He is a very good man with a great heart!" wrote Fox, now touring in the play "Cheaper to Keep Her."

Foxy Brown's brother/rapper Gavin "Pretty Boy" Marchand was among the men arrested for allegedly using a stolen credit card to purchase designer clothes in Manhattan.

Gavin Marchand was arrested last Saturday (August 7th) for allegedly possessing a forged American Express card to purchase almost $8,000 worth of clothes from the Hermes store on Madison Avenue.

According to the New York Post, police were inside the store conducting surveillance when Gavin, 35, and three associates arrived at the high-end boutique.

A 31-year-old man named Warren David allegedly attempted to use the card. When the men attempted to leave the store, police approached them, but the driver, Derwin Benoit, led police on a 90-mph chase, before he finally pulled over and surrendered.

"I don't know anything about that," Foxy Brown told NY Post as she left a grand jury hearing yesterday, for allegedly violating a restraining order against her neighbor last month.

Gavin Marchand briefly served as Foxy Brown's spokesman/manager.

FOXY BROWN FACES THE GRAND JURY

So Foxy Brown says she's "all about telling the truth" after testifying Wednesday before a grand jury investigating a blowup with one of her neighbors - who police say she mooned.

"I'm happy to have a chance to tell the truth about what happened," she said as she walked out of Brooklyn Supreme Court in a black Balanciaga blazer and glittery Chanel brooch. "Today my focus is on telling the truth."

Foxy was inside the courthouse for three hours and no immediate decision was made about whether she will face a felony charge of violating a restraining order the woman had against her.

"It feels so good to tell the truth," she added. "This thing has been such a nightmare."

Foxy is accused of violating a restraining order obtained by Arlene Raymond after a fight in which Brown allegedly clocked her with a Blackberry in 2007.

Foxy allegedly cursed Raymond out, bent over and thrust her exposed butt out, authorities said.

"B--ch, what are you looking at?" she yelled, according to the criminal complaint. "Kiss my ass."

Foxy, whose real name is Inga Marchand, refused to discuss the incident or reveal what she told the grand jury.

Her lawyer, Salvatore Strazzullo, said Foxy was on a mission to clear the air about the spat with Raymond.

"We're here for justice," he said.

FANTASIA RELEASED

After some tough days, Fantasia Barrino is on the mend – and out of the hospital.

She was hospitalized in Charlotte, N.C., Monday for an overdose of aspirin, but she was released from the hospital late Wednesday, says her manager Brian Dickens.

"She has been lifted up by the outpouring of love and support from her fans," Dickens said. "She is more committed than ever to her daughter and her work because they are her heart, her soul and inspiration."

The medical scare came just after Fanny, 26, was named in a court filing alleging that she was having an affair with a married man. The singer denied she was responsible for breaking up the marriage of Paula and Cook. However, on Tuesday admitted having dated Cook "off and on for 11 months."

Just weeks after duping his fiance Bristol Palin, Levi Johnston is set to star in a new reality project chronicling - get this folks - his surprise run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.

That's the same office Sarah Palin held before she became governor, a position that later launched her to the national stage as the failed GOP veep candidate.

"The more I think about it and look into it, I think there's a possibility we can make it happen," Johnston told Variety.com.

"It's something I want to do," he said of his improbable run for public office.

The project is under development at Stone and Company Entertainment, the same production house that brought us Ivana Trump's "Ivana Young Man" in 2006.

Titled "Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor's Office," it will chronicle Johnston's dual pursuits in Hollywood and his "red-neck" life as a single dad, skilled hunter, avid biker and wannabe politician looking for love and success back home in Alaska, according to a Stone and Co. press release.

It might not be as far-fetched as it sounds, the company claims, considering Wasilla's current mayor won with just 466 votes.

KANYE BACK ON MTV AWARDS

A year after infamously interrupting Taylor Swift on stage, Kanye West is set to return to the MTV Video Music Awards airing Sept. 12.

FANTASIA HOSPITALIZED

Fantasia was hospitalized Monday in Charlotte, N.C., and treated for a "medication overdose."

She was reportedly rushed to Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville around 8:55 p.m., the same day she denied allegations she had broken up a marriage. A rep for the singer reportedly confirmed to TMZ.com that she was rushed to the hospital.

Her condition is not life-threatening, sources tell media.

On Monday, Barrino spoke out against a North Carolina's woman's claims that her alleged affair with Antwaun Cook caused his marriage to end. A lawyer for the singer said the woman, Paula Cook, used Barrino's name to "sensationalize that litigation and to insure that her tale would be picked up by tabloids."

The singer's manager, Brian Dickens, added, "Fantasia will weather this storm with the dignity and grace that she has exemplified throughout a life in which she has repeatedly overcome obstacles and challenges."
