J. HUD GUSHES
J. Hud is one proud mama
She showed off new photos of her nearly 4-month-old son, David, while on Monday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
Despite his young age, J revealed plans to make her first born's Christmas a special one.
"I'm going to go crazy," she said. "He's very aware but he's so young and it's his first Christmas, so you have to go all-out...I kind of want to get him his own Santa Claus and just have like a toy store in the house, full of things."
GV Says: Be easy mama....you've got many Christmases to go.Thursday, October 08, 2009
J.HUD REVEALS BABY
Jennifer Hudson has finally debuted her 2 month old son David, Jr.
“I love being nurturing and caring because I love to see other people happy. Who better to devote my time to than my own child?”
On how they kept the pregnancy a secret:
“David and I were the only people who knew for a long time. I would forget I was pregnant, it was so easy. I didn’t have any morning sickness, no cravings either. I just thought, ‘Oh, well, we’ll wait until it’ll tell on itself.’ I didn’t show until I was seven months so that made it easy right there.”
She went on to say:
“I’ve never seen a baby eat like he does! He has a lot of personality, like David. He’s always been a good sleeper. His favorite time to smile now is diaper changes. Or when he spits up on you – he just cracks up like he thinks it’s the funniest thing. And his bottle is his pacifier. With a pacifier, it’s like he knows, ‘Ain’t nothing come out of here. No, I don’t want that. Where’s the real deal?’ His best friend is that bottle; that’s all he wants.”

The Chicago Tribune reports that J. Hud is indeed pregnant.
Felicia Fields, a longtime friend of the Hudson, confirmed to the paper that a baby shower happened on Saturday.
"It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family," Fields, also a singer and actress, said of a gathering in a relative's home. "They're really trying to keep it kind of quiet."
She added: "It was a nice time that we had."
When asked if Hudson received blue or pink gifts, Fields said, "They don't know [the gender]. More yellow."
Another paper, the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Hudson is seven months along.

JENNIFER HUDSON SURPRISES HER MAN
Well this is interesting....
Five months after boyfriend David Otunga aka "Punk" from the I Love NY show proposed to Jennifer Hudson on her 27th birthday, she returned the gesture with a surprise of her own: a proposal on Otunga's birthday.
She gave Otunga – a Harvard-educated-lawyer-turned-pro-wrestler – a personally designed Neil Lane engagement ring rocking out at 5 carats.
"Jennifer wanted to give him something really special when she asked David to marry her," says Lane, who worked with Hudson for months to design the ring. "It was very sentimental and romantic. ... They are really in love."
GV Says: I'm still on the I Love NY show....did anyone catch him on that? I just don't get why a man who seems to have so much going for himself would go on a show like that.

JENNIFER HUDSON EXPECTING?
We hear that after the storm, Jennifer Hudson and fiance David Otunga aka "Punk" may be expecting a little bundle of joy. She officially was put on "bump" watch after reporters noted a slight pooch. And “sources” close to her and her fiance David are confirming to media sources like Essence that they are indeed expecting.
GV Says: Only time will tell if congratulations is in order. I just hope David doesn't do her wrong. I'm still shaky about him appearing on I Love New York 2.

JENNIFER HUDSON MOVING ON
J.Hud graces Entertainment magazine
The songstress tells the magazine they needn't feel responsible for her. "The other day this lady came up to me and got really close to me," she recalls, "and I thought, 'What is it that makes people want to ... embrace me?' I don't like it when people get all emotional. I don't want you to cry."
But she does want you to smile. "To see that love from fans," she says, is "one of the most beautiful things."
GV Says: Go girl....I def get that. Her job made the tragedy public, but it was still a personal loss. When I loss my father I went through the same thing.....people constantly voicing their condolences waaaayyyy after the fact. I appreciated it, but it was time for me to move on. I will never forget him but I also couldn't stay in the constant phase of mourning. At some point you move past the sad phase and really start to remember your loved ones in a more joyous way.

BALFOUR'S LAWYER QUITS
Less than a month after a judge agreed to move William Balfour closer to Chicago so the man charged with murdering Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew could more easily consult with his lawyer, that attorney has quit the case.
Kutnick told the Chicago Sun-Times paper that although he believes Balfour is innocent of the crime, he cannot afford to shoulder the burden of the high-profile case alone. "It's the kind of case that involves intense hours," Kutnick said, reportedly after breaking the news to Balfour's mother. "I was gathering all resources, but I couldn't finance it."
Balfour, 27, who was transferred from the Statesville Correctional Center in Joliet, Illinois, to the Cook County Jail in late January at Kutnick's request, was scheduled to have a new lawyer from the public defender's office appointed to his case Monday.
Balfour is charged with killing Oscar-winning actress/singer Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew at their Chicago home in October. He has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder and one count of home invasion. Kutnick had said there is no forensic evidence linking his former client to the killings.

NO VIDEO SHOOT FOR HUDSON
Jennifer Hudson has scrapped plans to film her first music video since the October murders of her mother, brother and nephew, according to Usmagazine.com.
Hudson was due to shoot the clip for "If It Isn't Love" in Los Angeles this week, according to a rep for J Records.
"The video was set up before the tragedy and she felt like she should finish what she started, but she's realized that she's not ready to go back to work. It's too early," a source tells Us."
Also, a personal rep for Hudson called the original video plans "speculation.
"The video shoot was never confirmed, so there was nothing to cancel," the rep tells Usmagazine.com. "[J Records' statement] was erroneous."

MORE INFO SURFACES IN HUDSON CASE
| More info has surfaced around the motive in the Hudson family murders |
The next morning, police say, Julia's estranged husband William Balfour showed up and spotted a gift he believed came from another man.
Police believe that jealousy is the motive that led Balfour, 27, to return to the house after Julia had left for work and shoot her mother Darnell Donerson, 57, Jennifer's brother Jason, 29, then take Julia's son, 7-year-old Julian King, and later kill him as well, prosecutors allege.
The timing of Julian's death is still in question – his body was found three days later in the back seat of Jason's missing SUV, parked on a west side street several miles away – but police believe Julian was shot in the vehicle the same day as the first two murders.
Forensics tests later matched a .45 caliber handgun found in an alley near the parked Suburban with shell casings found at the house. And prosecutors said the gun belonging to Jason Hudson had been stolen by Balfour last summer and seen by Balfour's girlfriend, to whom they say he admitted his role in Donerson's and Jason Hudson's deaths.

Jennifer Hudson released a statement of gratitude in light of her four Grammy nods.
"It's been a childhood dream of mine to release an album," she said in a statement, " so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing. I'm extremely honored and humbled by the nominations."
Hudson, 27, was nominated for best R&B album for her self-titled album, best female R&B vocal performance, best R&B song for "Spotlight" and best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals for her duet with Fantasia, "I'm His Only Woman."
The nominations were announced on the same day her estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, was ordered held without bail in the Chicago shooting deaths of Hudson's mother Darnell Donerson, 57, brother Jason Hudson, 29, and his own stepson, Julian King, 7.

NO BAIL FOR BALFOUR
Bail was rightfully denied today for the estranged brother-in-law of Jennifer Hudson who has been charged with killing three members of her family.
Chicago Breaking News reports:
Joshua Kutnick, Balfour's defense attorney, told Judge Raymond Myles today that there were no witnesses to the slayings and no connection between Balfour and the weapon that was believed to have been used in the shootings.
"Thus far it is my impression and William's impression that he has been painted as guilty in this case," Kutnick said. "And that is untrue and unfortunate. We implore the public to keep an open mind."
At the hearing, prosecutors outlined a case that is in large measure circumstantial, including the previously undisclosed fact that gunshot residue was found on the steering wheel of Balfour's car, which, authorities said, he had driven that morning to the Hudson home and later moved after the murders.
In addition, prosecutors refuted a number of statements that Balfour made to police, among them:
--Balfour told detectives that he was home at the time of the shootings, but cell phone records showed he was in the vicinity of the Hudson family home.
--Balfour told police that after he had earlier been to the Hudson home to talk with his estranged wife, he had taken a CTA "L" train to his West Side home. But CTA card records show that Balfour had last used the card two days before. Also, Balfour had claimed to have used a particular "L" station, but surveillance cameras showed he had not been there.
--Balfour denied having a gun, but multiple witnesses said they saw him with one or heard him say he had one. The gun used in the slayings had belonged to Jason Hudson and Balfour had taken it without permission from Hudson's bedroom over the summer, prosecutors said.
New Cook County State's Atty. Anita Alvarez said prosecutors "approved charges on this case because we believe that we have enough evidence to support our burden."
Alvarez, who was sworn into office Monday, said authorities would continue to look for more evidence in the case.
Prosecutors said Balfour had come to the workplace of his estranged wife -- Julia Hudson, the actress' sister -- in early October to complain about her dating another man and threatened her family with harm if she continued to see him. He went to the house the day of the slayings to again warn her about the relationship, prosecutors said.
He and Julia Hudson left the house together, prosecutors said. She got into her car and drove off. He was walking toward his car when he was last seen by Julia Hudson, they said.
Balfour has denied being involved, but witnesses saw him in Jason Hudson's SUV and placed him at the family's home the day of the slayings, a source said. Balfour's girlfriend has told police he confessed and that she saw him with a gun that resembled the murder weapon, sources said.
Balfour's mother said he was not responsible for the slayings and his girlfriend made a deal with authorities. Chicago Police Supt. Weis on Tuesday emphatically denied police had made a deal.
GV Says: I just can't believe their marital problems were that serious...nor can I believe that Julia wound knowingly enter a relationship with his record....I know you can't predict others' actions but.....why??Monday, December 01, 2008
ARREST MADE IN HUDSON MURDERS
Arrest made in murders of Hudson family
Jennifer Hudson's estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, was arrested Monday in the slayings of her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew, according to Chicago police.
Formal charges have not yet been brought by the Cook County prosecutor's office, but Balfour was transferred from an Illinois state prison – where he has been held on suspicion of a parole violation – back into police custody, says police spokeswoman Monique Bond.
Balfour, 27, who is separated from Hudson's sister, Julia, was arrested in the first-degree murders of Hudson's mother Darnell Donerson, 57, brother Jason Hudson, 29, and his own stepson, Julian King, 7.
Balfour, who previously served prison time for attempted murder and car hijacking, was arrested hours after the first victims were discovered.
He and Julia Hudson married on Dec. 30, 2006, and initially lived together at the family home. But a contentious relationship, marked by fights over money and infidelities according to family members and neighbors, led to Balfour being thrown out of the house in recent months. He had voiced threats against Julia and her family, sources say. His mother, Michele Balfour, told reporters her son had discussed divorce.
No motive for the slayings was disclosed, but police told the Chicago Tribune that on the morning of the killings Julia Hudson reported to her job as a school bus driver and learned that her paycheck had been garnered due to unmade payments on a car that Balfour had taken earlier. She then called Balfour.
Sources – who reconstructed events based on conversations with a girlfriend of Balfour's – told the Tribune that Balfour then went to the Hudson home and fired through the front door, striking Jason Hudson. Darnell Donerson was allegedly shot as she entered the living room.
