SNOOP DOGG ORDERED TO PAY

Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle Records, rapper Soopafly and other unnamed parties will pay Richard Monroe Jr. nearly $449,000 in damages for an injury he sustained during an assault.



"We're very pleased that the jury found that this incident was not something to be taken lightly," Monroe's attorney, Brian E. Watkins, said. Friday’s decision marks the end of two weeks of testimony surrounding Monroe’s 2006 lawsuit against Snoop Dogg.

Monroe maintains that after being invited on stage by Snoop, he was tackled by security after putting his arm around Snoop Dogg.

According to reports, Monroe later woke up after the assault, dazed, in a pool of blood and with his pants ripped off.

He told investigators that the men who beat him also poured their drinks, which appeared to be a mix of gin and juice, on him during the beating. Jurors were shown pictures of Monroe’s swollen face following the concert.

The jury’s decision to award the nearly $449,000 payment to Monroe fell short of the $ 22 million he had sought from the entertainer.

This time he has teamed up with the reigning king of Indian films, Akshay Kumar, to record the title track for the actor's upcoming Bollywood epic, Singh is Kinng. In the accompanying music video, Dogg dresses in traditional grand sardar style. According to producer Vipul A. Shah, Snoop hopes to break into the booming Indian film scene.....WTF???

"Snoop wants to do a Hindi movie with Akshay, as he is really keen on wooing the Indian audiences," Shah said in a statement. "The most interesting aspect of the song is that one gets to see two very different styles – hip-hop with Snoop and Bhangra with Akshay," says Shah. "Their chemistry was worth seeing as they're superstars from two different worlds. To say the least, the video is looking brilliant!"

WIFE OF SNOOP DOGG ARRESTED

Shante Broadus, wife of rapper Snoop Dogg was arrested early this morning and slapped with a DUI charge. Fullerton, CA police Lt. Craig Brower says officers stopped 32-year-old Shante Broadus of Sherman Oaks about 12:15 a.m. Saturday and took her to jail. She was cited and then released pending a court appearance. No one else was in the car.

SNOOP DOGG GIVES BEYONCE & JAY-Z ADVICE

Snoop Dogg of all people have offered Jay-Z and B marital advice.



"I told them to go home and make babies," he told reporters at the Dodge Celebrity Event in Rosamond, Calif. "They should, that's the next step as far as marriage, having kids ... add on to the family, so hopefully that's what they'll do."

When asked if he'd be planning on adding to his already full nest, he shook his head, grinning. "No. I'm good." Snoop's key to lasting marriage?

"Communication, and being able to fight and get back up," he says. "To have misunderstanding and [then] get some understanding."

Snoop has three children with his wife of ten years.

50 CENT TO BACK MAYWEATHER

It's being billed as "The Best vs the Biggest." Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather will face WWE's Paul "Big Show" Wight at "WrestleMania XXIV" on March 30 in Orlando, Florida.

Even though the 7-foot-plus Wight outweighs "Money" Mayweather by more than 300 pounds, the boxing champ is getting 50 Cent to accompany him to the ring. The boxer came out to the sound of 50's "I Get Money" during a verbal confrontation with the Big Show two weeks ago.

As you might remember, 50 rapped "I Get Money" while escorting Mayweather to the ring before the much-hyped Mayweather vs. Oscar De La Hoya match last summer.
Monday night on "WWE Raw," the pugilist appeared via satellite and told the Big Show, "I'm willing to die at "WrestleMania"! Are you?" He also promised to break the giant's jaw during their face-off.

Mayweather and the Big Show had their first confrontation last month during WWE's pay-per-view special "No Way Out." After getting on his knees to let the much smaller Mayweather take a free hit, the Show's nose was broken in a Floyd flurry.

Mayweather is being paid a reported $20 million for his participation in "WrestleMania."

WWE has announced that John Legend will be starting off "Wrestlemania" singing "American The Beautiful," and, also on the 30th, Snoop Dogg will be the master of ceremonies for the all-female throwdown of WWE Divas billed as the "BunnyMania Lumberjack Match."

Help me understand when hip-hop got into wrestling. I must have been on vacation at that time.
