BRANDY SUED

An 83-year old man is suing R&B singer Brandy and the woman that died as a result of the fatal 2006 accident. Although Brandy was not charged with a crime in the case, Donald Lite is filing suit against the singer for causing the accident and against the deceased woman, Awatef Aboudihaj, for contributing (allegedly) to the collision. Lite is seeking settlement for "serious and permanent injuries."

MOS DEF TO BE SUED

Star Pulse is reporting that Mos Def has been the target of a lawsuit by his divorce lawyers for failing to pay them for their services.

According to the outlet, attorneys from the legal firm Blank Rome claim that the rapper owes them $60,000 in unpaid fees and retainers after they assisted him in his divorce from Maria Yepes in 2006.

NO VIDEO SHOOT FOR HUDSON

Jennifer Hudson has scrapped plans to film her first music video since the October murders of her mother, brother and nephew, according to Usmagazine.com.

Hudson was due to shoot the clip for "If It Isn't Love" in Los Angeles this week, according to a rep for J Records.

"The video was set up before the tragedy and she felt like she should finish what she started, but she's realized that she's not ready to go back to work. It's too early," a source tells Us."

Also, a personal rep for Hudson called the original video plans "speculation.
"The video shoot was never confirmed, so there was nothing to cancel," the rep tells Usmagazine.com. "[J Records' statement] was erroneous."

T-BOZ SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT

So T-Boz has decided to set the record straight

ESSENCE.COM: Well, there have been reports that a Georgia property of yours is going into foreclosure. Is that true?
T-BOZ: No, I’m not homeless. During my last marriage [to Mack 10], I had a bunch of things that were put in my name. If one of those properties is going into foreclosure then I don’t know. Although I’ve been divorced for five years, there are still a lot of things I’m dealing with on getting straight in that regard. All I know is that the house I live in with my daughter is not. When you pull up my name, my real house doesn’t show up because it’s not in my real name, because I enjoy my privacy and I’m not trying to have people be able to find me that easily.
ESSENCE.COM: There were also reports of you losing a home in Houston?
T-BOZ: I’ve never owned a home in Houston. I closed a store in Houston, Chase’s Closet, where I sold girls and boys clothing from infantsto 12 years. The store is named after my daughter, Chase. For now, I only have the online store (chasescloset.com).
ESSENCE.COM: That explains the locale. Did you see the photos they had of you that were allegedly in front of your Houston home begging for donations?
T-BOZ: It’s almost a waste of energy to give an explanation, but I’ll just say that the [blogosphere] loves to make up things. I remember that photo and it was on Craiglist.com showing me holding up an autographed picture on the internet saying, “If you come to this address with cash we’ll give you an autographed picture.” The only thing that irritated me was that they said that the proceeds would be donated to St. Jude’s [Children's Research Hospital]. I can take people talking about me all day, but don’t use my name to make fun of sick children because that’s beyond low and sick. I was a sick kid for a long time, in and out of the hospital most of my life battling my sickle cell, so I don’t find anything funny about that kind of joking. Why would anyone target innocent sick children to make fun of? That’s not cool at all. I mean someone actually took the time to make up all this stuff.

GV Says: Ok...I do believe her when she says she has a roof over her head. However I find this odd...."I had a bunch of things that were put in my name. If one of those properties is going into foreclosure then I don’t know." I'm calling BS on that. Girlfriend you need to be more concerned about your credit!!! Geez! You would think that someone who filed for bankruptcy at one point would be more concerned. That's pretty irresponsible.

This just goes to show being famous means nothing. Bad, turbulent things can happen to anyone. Bad doesn't skip the good. However, the point I'm making is that people shouldn't worship these people. I know "regular" people who are financially more sound than this.

Jay-Z spends so much time at his recording studio, he needs to keep a bed in there. Sources told us Hova hit up BoConcept on Madison Avenue and 30th Street to find furniture for his Manhattan "office." We hear his purchases included a sleep-sized sofa, a bar table, bar stools and a glass coffee table, and that he dispatched his assistant to collect the goods.

Straight foolishness followed Pres Bush today.




A man identified as an Iraqi journalist threw shoes at -- but missed -- President Bush during a news conference Sunday evening in Baghdad, where Bush was making a farewell visit.

Bush ducked, and the shoes, flung one at a time, sailed past his head during the news conference with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in his palace in the heavily fortified Green Zone.

The shoe-thrower -- identified as Muntadhar al-Zaidi, an Iraqi journalist with Egypt-based al-Baghdadia television network -- could be heard yelling in Arabic: "This is a farewell ... you dog!"

While pinned on the ground by security personnel, he screamed: "You killed the Iraqis!"

More info has surfaced around the motive in the Hudson family murders

It all started from Julia Hudson's birthday. On Oct. 23 Julia celebrated with cake and a small party at home.

The next morning, police say, Julia's estranged husband William Balfour showed up and spotted a gift he believed came from another man.

Police believe that jealousy is the motive that led Balfour, 27, to return to the house after Julia had left for work and shoot her mother Darnell Donerson, 57, Jennifer's brother Jason, 29, then take Julia's son, 7-year-old Julian King, and later kill him as well, prosecutors allege.

The timing of Julian's death is still in question – his body was found three days later in the back seat of Jason's missing SUV, parked on a west side street several miles away – but police believe Julian was shot in the vehicle the same day as the first two murders.

Forensics tests later matched a .45 caliber handgun found in an alley near the parked Suburban with shell casings found at the house. And prosecutors said the gun belonging to Jason Hudson had been stolen by Balfour last summer and seen by Balfour's girlfriend, to whom they say he admitted his role in Donerson's and Jason Hudson's deaths.

TMZ is reporting that a five-bedroom, nearly 10,000-sq. ft. house owned by T-Boz is about to go on the auction block in January 2009. According to public records, she's defaulted on the original principal of her mortgage (around $530K), and so now the state is taking it.
