Mariah Carey took five trophies at Billboard's 2006 R&B/ Hip-Hop Awards, held Friday (Sept. 8) in Atlanta. She was named top R&B/ hip-hop artist, top R&B/ hip-hop female artist, hot R&B/hip-hop songs artist, top R&B/ hip-hop albums artist and was honored with the top R&B/ hip-hop album award (for The Emancipation of Mimi). Kanye West also scored multiple wins, earning prizes for top rap album (Late Registration) and hot rap track ("Gold Digger"). "Gold Digger" collaborator Jamie Foxx was named top hip-hop/ R&B artist, while Young Jeezy was awarded as the top new R&B/ hip-hop artist.
