Will Smith is the latest artist bidding on an NBA franchise, as part of an investment group that includes Hall of Fame player Julius "Dr. J." Erving. The actor/rapper is vying to purchase his hometown team, the Philadelphia 76ers, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Smith's group is among several that have placed bids, with the winning price tag expected to exceed $400 million, sources close to the negotiations told the paper. If Smith's group is successful, he'll join Jay-Z (New Jersey Nets), Nelly (Charlotte Bobcats) and singer Usher (Cleveland Cavaliers) as a proud basketball team owner.
