MARY'S BACK IN THE STUDIO

Mary J. Blige tells Hamptons Magazine that recording the follow-up to her Grammy-winning The Breakthrough has taught her the benefits of taking her time in the studio.

"It's like the difference between a rotisserie meal and a microwave dinner," she explained. "It takes hours to get right, but it's going to be really good and you won't forget it. I'm a nice rotisserie — caramel-colored and well-seasoned." Blige also confessed a secret desire to design her own fashion line. "I want to show people that I care about consumers and how they'll look in my [line of clothes], not just my name being on the brand," she said. "I love to see people in nice clothing, especially women. You look beautiful and feel confident when you have on the right stuff."
